Sources

A source is one business profile on one platform: a Google place, a Facebook page, a Yelp business, your WooCommerce store, or a bucket for imported reviews. Every review in Range Trust belongs to a source, and widgets filter by source, so one site can mix several locations and platforms freely.

Adding a source

On Range Trust → Sources, pick the platform and fill in its connection fields; each platform's guide lists exactly what it needs:

• Google: Place ID + Places API key
• Facebook: Page ID + Page access token
• Yelp: business alias + Fusion API key
• WooCommerce: nothing, or a product ID
• WordPress.org: a plugin or theme slug
• Collected on this site: created automatically by the funnel
• Imported: a home for CSV/JSON imports

Syncable platforms fetch immediately on save; the source row fills in with the profile name, rating and review count. Leave the Name field empty to use the name the platform reports, or set your own (a manual name is never overwritten by sync).

Syncing

Sources re-sync automatically on the cadence in Settings → Sync frequency (hourly, twice daily, daily or weekly, via WP-Cron). Use Sync on a row or Sync all now to fetch on demand, or wp range-trust sync from the command line.

Synced reviews accumulate; a platform that returns only its latest handful per request still builds a full library over weeks. Re-syncs update review text but never undo your moderation (hidden status, tags, replies stay).

Sync errors

A failing source shows the platform's error message on its row and in an admin notice, and Site Health reports failing or stale sources. Typical causes: an expired token (Facebook), a key restriction (Google), a renamed business alias (Yelp).

Deleting

Deleting a source deletes its reviews as well; export first from Tools if you want a copy.
